Agency Creek - ID. Heading down from the Continental Divide, Lewis' party came upon this creek where they "tasted the water of the great Columbia River." The next day, they met some Indians who led them to the Shoshone village. Their chief, Cameahwait, helped the Corps portage their supplies over the pass. Sacagawea recognized the chief as her long-lost brother, enabling the Corps to buy the horses they needed.
